Spotify and Facebook are set announce a partnership to provide streaming music within the social network, according to reports.
This new service will see Spotify integrated into Facebook so that users of the network can play songs, share them with friends and even listen to songs with their friends, now that sounds pretty cool! Due to be announced in as little as two weeks time, Forbes reported, citing sources close to the deal. The report said the service is currently being tested. A Spotify spokesperson told Forbes that the company already works with Facebook but doesn’t have plans to extend its relationship.
Spotify currently allows users to import their Facebook friends into the Spotify app and share songs into their news feed. The new Facebook integration will be available only in those countries where Spotify currently operates, meaning that potential US customers will still have to wait. However reports suggest that the US launch for Spotify is “very close”.
